Curbside Collection Services

All residents will have access to refuse collection, with their choice in size of refuse toter, as well as recycle collection with a 95-gallon recycle cart, and landscape waste collection.

Household refuse, recycle and landscape waste will be collected after 7:00 AM on your scheduled service day, please have all items out the night before.  Please keep in mind, separate trucks pick up refuse, recycle and landscape waste, so these materials may be collected at different times of the day.

Bulk Items

One bulk item such as a standard couch, chair or table will be collected each week at no additional charge.  Bulk items must be less than 50 lbs.

Special Pickups

Special pick-ups must be pre-arranged for scheduling and payment. If you choose to have this done on a day other than your scheduled service day an extra trip fee will be charged.

Recycling

Recyclable materials are collected curbside weekly on your primary day of service. Please do not put your recyclables in plastic bags in the toter.  Recyclables shall be placed clean and dry, loose in the toter.  All recyclable materials should be rinsed free of food. Cardboard boxes must be broken down, flattened and cut into a manageable size (2’X2’). Cardboard should be placed next to your other recyclables.  Plastic bags are not allowed.

Landscape Waste

Landscape waste is collected weekly, April 1 through November 30 and includes collection of eight (8) bags, cans, or bundles of landcape waste per week. Landscape waste must be placed in biodegradable Kraft paper bags or plastic cans no larger than 35 gallons in size. Each yard waste bag, can or bundle may not exceed 50 lbs.

Tree limbs, branches or brush must be bundled with twine, and may not exceed 4 feet in length and 2 feet in diameter, with individual branches not exceeding 3 inches in diameter.

If you use cans for your landscape waste instead of biodegradable Kraft paper bags, please mark (paint) the cans containing landscape waste. This will help identify the landscape waste to the drivers so your pick up is not inadvertently missed. Yard waste in plastic bags will not be collected.

Holiday Trees

Holiday trees will be collected the first two weeks of January at no additional charge from all residential households. All decorations, stands, etc. must be removed from trees. Do not place trees in plastic bags; trees in plastic bags will not be collected.

White Goods

White goods such as refrigerators, freezers, ovens, washers, dryers, water heaters, etc. require a special pick up as separate disposal is required by the state.  There will be a separate fee per appliance for collection; residents must call our office to schedule and arrange collection.

Electronic Recycling

Per the Illinois Electronic Products Recycling and Reuse Act, the state of Illinois requires that electronic items be recycled. Electronic items such as televisions, monitors, computers and printers are some of the most common items no longer allowed in the regular trash. There will be a separate fee per electronic for collection; residents must call our office to schedule and arrange collection. Customers also have the option to bring their items directly to drop off sites throughout the area, most of which have no fee.  Please visit our Electronics page under Recycling for additional information.
